Quad DoA run in Hard mode
Just spent 9 hours doing a quad - not the best times but some of us are new. 64 titan gems on the floor ftw!

BTW, 16k LB points too.

Standard balance build. Nothing special skill-wise. Normal hairy situations like cave in Gloom, room 2 in Foundary, snake run in Foundry (we decided to play it safe by clearing the room before doing snake run, it paid off!)
Other drops were pitiful, only 3 titans dropped extra, and only 3 greens dropped altogether!

Grats to you! Long aint it? Hehe, my guild has been doing DoA since release quite a lot. We know how much of an effort this run is... especially in hard mode! For those that were curious, here is a basic DoA build:
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Build:Team_-_DoA_Balanced
The day Hard Mode was release we tested missions in HM, started on nub island and jumping to each area from Istan to Kourna, to Vabbi, to Desolation, etc. Then we had this bright idea, lets do DoA 4 area run, Hard Mode! wooooo! Here is our run, if the OP is curious of the details of our run...
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10146204
Oh, ya sorry not trying to hijack...its just nice to see other people's runs, i like to see how people do their builds and runs differently...
Grats again! Its hard work with a great payoff!
cheers!

I suppose the mob behaves a little differently in HM then NM. If the casters are camp-casting, definitely gg.
As long as you can manage the aggro to stay on the tank, it's actually quite manageable, but of course, you need a good tank otherwise it's not going to work.
BTW, didn't know KaiZ already posted it, but they are guild group, ours pug (at least I'm). the extra 1.5 hours is well compensated for by coordination and familiarity!

From what I understand, or what I think I understand, each player gets 1 more gemstone, from the chest, for each area cleared. So, in Normal Mode, each player would get 4 titan gemstones if they cleared the Foundry last. Since Hard Mode doubles that, it becomes 8 gems for each. I think. I've never actually been to DoA or even beaten Nightfall... hehe.
Also, check out http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Build:Team_-_DoA_Balanced and read the 3rd paragraph, it kinda explains it. (Just make sure to double the gemstones because they did it in Hard, not Normal)

Oh thanks. that explains it! However, I still have another question. Does the 4-area run has to be in 1 run or can be 4 different runs? I remember I did Gloom first and got a Torment Gem at the end; another day I did Veil and got only 1 Stygian Gem at the end too. So looks like you have to do 4 of them in 1 run?

Yes, you have to do all areas back to back. They are all connected once inside, you finish one and a gate opens giving you access to the next area.
In the first area you get 1 gem, the second 2, third 3 and fourth 4 ( well unless you do it in hard mode, and then you can double those gem drops).

Snake run is to escort the 3 prisoners (snakes) back to safety. Once you activate each snake, a whole lot of mob pops up every time and you have to keep the snake alive otherwise gg because you need them alive to trigger the Black Beast of Augh, and then the Fury.
GuildWiki has this quest documented quite well.

Aha... I see. That's why I didn't know because I've never came that far. Everytime we have a tank, it seems they never know where to tank so he can block them in the last room (where the snake quest is). The first few mobs they know (between the wall and another thing in the beginning), but the last mobs at the end, where can he tank and body block them, can you help me with that?
many tnx
